New corks were also installed in water keys.
History on Wurlitzer trumpets is very sketchy. One source says these were introduced in 1925, but they spelled the name, “Melody” instead of “Melodie” as inscribed on the bell, so I’m not sure how accurate their information is.

It has a nice, clear C trumpet sound with good intonation. Playing in the key of C is accomplished with the main slide extension piece removed and valve slides pushed in fully to the normal position. All but one of the included photos are of the trumpet in this configuration. This was designed primarily as a C trumpet, with the extension provided for occasional use playing Bb music. To play in Bb you pull out the main tuning slide, insert the extension spacer, then plug the main slide into the extension. One photo is included with the Bb spacer installed. 1

slide is a new replacement Benge item. The original silver plating was touched up where necessary following the slide work and minimal dent repair.
