    Description

Vintage Conn 22B Bb Trumpet - 1946/1947 New York Symphony "Late Model" in excellent playing condition. Finish is worn in a few places, and a couple of minor dings, with nothing that affects the playability of this trumpet.
Features the "clickless" valves that were common in the Conns of the 1930s-1940s. Serial number puts date of manufacture around 1946-1947. Trumpet was recently serviced, and lubricated. Everything that is supposed to move does so freely. Water keys have been freshly recorked.
Played it at band rehearsal a few weeks ago, it has a nice mellow sound that really opens up when you put the air to it. This was what the professionals played back in the day. When Bud Herseth joined the Chicago Symphony in 1948, he was playing a 22B.
Comes with the original case (that somebody long ago painted black), an aluminum straight mute, a Blessing 5C mouthpiece. and a bottle of Al Cass valve oil.
