Vintage 1927 York Grand Rapids, MI Model 62 C/Bb/A Trumpet w/ Case

Description

For your consideration is a York branded C/Bb/A double slide brace trumpet with hard case included. This small bore model, produced in Grand Rapids, MI, is a part of a special line of double slide brace models with a serial number range of 81,000 - 97,000 produced between 1925-1929. This instrument (serial number 86399) dates to the early part of 1927. There are few examples of these online however we noticed notches in the 1st and 3rd slides that indicate Bb & A (see photos) and when the horn is played with slides set in proper positions, the horn plays properly intonated in the key of C/Bb/ and A. There may have possibly been another slide portion at one time, but without another to compare it to, we cannot be certain.

The instrument has been professionally chem-cleaned and polished in our shop and new valve felts have been installed. The instrument will be shipped dry. As shown in photos, this instrument is in good condition overall and is playable. However, it does show wear in sections. Areas such as the valve casings, valve caps, and areas on the lead pipe show worn lacquer. Also present are small cosmetic dents and scratching throughout (see photos).
Case is in good shape and functions as intended. Internally, a new strap has been installed on the pocket section as one was not previously installed upon arrival. Case will be included with listing as shown. No mouthpiece included.
