In May 1997, three different euro coins in the denominations of 1 1/2, 2 1/2 and 10 euros were issued in Berlin by Landesbank Berlin (LBB) as part of a first euro-acceptance tests (Europe Week from 3 to 11 May 1997). These were approved in Berlin as a further means of payment in addition to the Deutsche Mark. The support was very low.
