Description
Rare and massive (a bit over 37" wide by 67" tall) original 1972 promo-only poster for Neil Young's "Harvest", easily one of the greatest albums of his long career. These were all issued folded into approx 12.5" by 11.25" size to be packaged with promotional copies of the LP sent to radio stations and the press nearly 50 years ago. Artwork is by Tom Newsom whose signature appears printed within the artwork towards the bottom-left corner where you'll also fine a Reprise Records logo and "Printed in U.S.A." statement. The image is very clean and vibrant, with the main issue being small but clean tears at most of the 10 internal fold line corners. I have included photographs of 4 representative ones, taken from the back where they are easier to discern. Given the folded nature of the poster, if you were to frame any example, you would need to have it professionally linen or paper backed anyway. That backing process should make all of these tears virtually disappear, i.e. in my opinion it will professionally frame as nicely as an example with none of these small tears.
Please see all pictures for a visual description of the poster's condition, keeping in mind this is a very difficult poster to photograph given both the size and reflective semi-glossy surface. The wooden ruler at the bottom is a yard stick (36") and the metal one to the right is 4 feet (48").
Previous examples have sold at auction at Psychedelic Art Exchange for 6 (2018, graded 69 out of 100 with similar tears to this example) and 0 (2019, graded 75/100).
Poster will be shipped flat, folded as issued.
