Description
I JUST FINISHED RESTORING, and it is ready to play. Vintage MARTIN HANDCRAFT " TROUBADOUR" TRUMPET in Bb of a medium bore. The Bell is 4" in diameter, inside the bell is gold-plated. A C. A. Conti mouthpiece #28 is
Included. Just had the mouthpiece re-silvered and is in excellent condition.
Conti was one of about four MP's that were used by Martin Trumpets.
The Bell is hand engraved Handcraft, Elkhart, Ind. The Trumpet is a silver satin finish and there
is a bright finish section around the Martin engraving. Typical of this Martin "Troubadour" is the
wedding band finger hook.
The 2nd slide is missing a pull but is filled see pic #6, a small indentation at the curve of the bell near the lead pipe and
somewhere in the
past someone dripped soft solder on the lead pipe, see #4 picture, has no effect on the playing.
The Martin "Troubadour" is numbered #103188, circa 1930 and is in excellent condition for it's age.
This Martin has a brilliant sound, slightly more so that my King or Bach trumpets.
ALL the numbers match, i.e. valves, upper and lower caps ALL. Also the Trumpet comes with a new pair
of white gloves to practice. Oils on your fingers OVER TIME will EAT into the silver plating.
The case is in very good condition, latches snap real good, handle is good and inside for it's age is good as well.
