Fossil "Turtle Head" Cucullaea Recendens False Ark Shell 55 my old

Description

These are commonly mislabeled as fossil turtle heads, but they are actually a type of extinct clam, Cucullaea Recendens or Cucullaea Gigantea, depending on size. This specimen is 2.5 inches (6cm) in length, so it's probably the former. Nice condition.
