    Description

    Chesapecten Fossil Shells Variety 9 Pack Millions of Years Old!
    These were found off of rivers in Virginia along what is known as the Yorktown Formation. The Yorktown Formation is a mapped bedrock unit that is over overconsolidated and highly fossiliferous. It contains specimens dating from the Mid Miocene to Pliocene Epoch.
    These fossil specimens belong to the genus Chesapecten. There are several Chesapecten Jeffersonius in the lot. I haven't researched to confirm the species of all of them. There may be some C. Madisonius, C. Middlesexenis, as well as others in the lot. They would make a great addition to any collection and would make great conversation starters or display pieces.
