Brass 1930s RKO movie prop badge “Dept. of Justice, Bureau of Investigation 403”. Identical with a different number as one used in the 1936 movie “Special Investigator. Until 1935, the FBI was known as the Bureau of Investigation, and portrayed as such in movies before switching to its now more familiar name. Several badges were probably made for RKO’s Feds vs gangster movies in the 30s. The badge has the following scratched crudely on back which presumably are inventory numbers: RKO-DA 5340; DH 5340; JAG 4526; and 3-20-36. Shipped with USPS First Class.
